| Description | A show-stopping perennial grass. Cool green foliage develops purple tones through the year, reaching near-black in fall. Dark purple flower spikes shoot up in late summer. | Care Instructions | Easily grown in average, well-drained soils, but tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions. Puts out more growth, and grows taller, in moist, fertile soils. Slow to establish, but then tolerates drought. Cut stems to the ground in late winter before new shoots appear. |
