Thrives in well-drained, neutral to lightly acidic, humus-rich soils with ample moisture. Protect from harsh afternoon sun in hot summer regions. Apply mulch to maintain a cool root zone. Water deeply, regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Apply fertilizer in early spring. |
